Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Exactly where are you located?
A: 300 East Main Street, Newark, DE, just past the Emergency Center and Kelway Plaza. A map and directions to the church can be found here.

Q: What is needed in order to get a not-for-profit discounted rate for a rental?
A: You must provide the church with your group's nonprofit tax-exempt ID number.

Q: How big are the rooms and how many people can be accommodated there?
A: Please see the details of the rooms, including stats of the number of people each space can handle here.

Q: Can I arrange for a tour of the space?
A: Yes. Just email our Administrative Assistant or call (302) 737-4711 and we will arrange for a tour during office hours (Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Q: What are the other conditions relative to use of the rooms inside the building?
A: The details of the conditions of building use are outlined here.

Q: Whom do I call in case of emergency during my rental?
A: First, for things like fire or injury, call 911. Second, for situations related to the building, like the stove won't work or you can't lock the door, or the refrigerator is leaking, etc., call one of the emergency numbers: (410) 398-6844, (302) 368-8482 or (410) 398-4590.

Q: What if someone is parking in my assigned space?
A: You may park anywhere in the church back lot in a space marked with white lines - don't take another renter's parking space. Be sure your hang-tag is up on your rearview mirror. If it continues to be a problem or you notice it is the same car, please call the church office at (302) 737-4711 to let us know. You can always drop us a note through the front door mail slot as well.

Q: What happens if my car breaks down and I can'tt replace it and no longer need the space I have paid for which is non-refundable?
A: You may "sublet" your space to someone else but the exchange of money is between you and that person. However, you must come in with the new renter to insure that a new contract is filled out.

Q: What if there is a big snowstorm... will I be plowed in... will the church shovel me out?
A: We have a plowing service which clears the parking lot, so there is a chance you could be plowed in, as would happen if you were parked at an apartment complex. We recommend that you keep some sand and a snow shovel in your car during the winter months.
