Membership Growth

The New Ark United Church of Christ was founded in 1981 with members seeking to have the UCC tradition in Newark, DE. The New Ark UCC serves the Newark area with many programs and has continued to play a vital role in our community. The New Ark UCC welcomes new persons and invites them to attend our services at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings at 300 East Main St. Newark, DE along with an average of 100 persons in attendance for worship. We currently have 236 members and have an active Sunday School program for all ages. The Membership Growth Committee explores ways to let people know about our church.

“The circle in our symbol is left open as visible expression of our invitation to you to join us in the fellowship of the New Ark – a congregation that aims to fulfill the commandment to love the Lord our God and to love our neighbor as ourselves.”

Visitor Aides from the New Ark UCC participate weekly in welcoming worshippers to our church service & can assist in finding child care or answer questions. During the year, members of the New Ark UCC participate in community activities sponsoring a booth at Newark Community Day every September, and other special events. Some members participate in “Quilts for Comfort”, New Ark United Housing Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, and projects in our community. New Ark UCC offers opportunities to grow & to reach out to others, and to have fellowship. All persons are welcome!!
