Stewardship Sunday Potluck: The Finance Committee will host a potluck luncheon following worship on Sunday, Nov. 12. Come one, come all to help us kick off the stewardship campaign and celebrate all the various ways that our congregation gives of their time, talents, and treasure. A signup sheet will be in Wells Hall so that we make sure there is an array of salads, entrees, and desserts.

'A Brush with Kindness Celebration'

On Sunday, Nov. 19 we will celebrate with the homeowners with whom we worked on Habitat for Humanity’s "A Brush with Kindness" program. We will have a light lunch at 1 p.m. and see before and after pictures of the improvements made in each of the six homes. All of the homeowners have been invited as well as representatives from the City of Newark, a partner in the project along with the State of Delaware and the New Ark UCC. All are welcome!

Thanksgiving Basket Donations

The Social Concerns Committee, on behalf of the congregation, will donate Thanksgiving baskets to five area families who would otherwise lack a nice holiday dinner. We need your help in supplying some of the basket items. A list of items can be found in our November newsletter.

Please bring your foodstuffs to the New Ark before Friday, Nov. 20, and mark them as donations for the Thanksgiving baskets. A special table will be set up for these donations in Wells Hall along with a signup sheet for 10 volunteers (two per basket) to deliver baskets to families on Sunday, Nov. 22.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Come to give thanks and worship with our Baha’i, Sikh, Jewish, Christian, Unitarian, and Muslim sisters and brothers on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 276 S. College Ave., Newark. An offering will be received for the Newark Empowerment Center, as well as donations of food and toiletries.
